Metzger Farm Open Space & Big Dry Creek Trail, Broomfield / Westminster, Colorado USA - June 9
Returned to the farm this morning to look for the great horned owl family as I haven't seen them for a couple days. Found them! My but they have some good hiding places! Had trouble getting decent shots but they are still in the farm house yard.
A black-crowned night heron came in for a meal while a pair of wood ducks decided to eat out at another place.
The great blue heron kids are growing up fast. This image was right after sunrise - easy to see why it is called the "golden hour" (but the first 15 minutes are truely gold).
The little egret found breakfast as did the kingfisher. Swallows were skimming the pond for bugs.
Heard the first bull frog of the season and saw the season's first damselflies.
