I have realized my boss is a credit hog.
I had wondered how she got to her position with some serious gaps in knowledge. Now I realize it's 'cause she just asks other people and passes it on as her own. She's been my boss for about 9 months, but I had missed this for two reasons:
1) I work from home most of the time, and don't see how she operates
2) She divides things up. Like she says she's working on a presentation. She asks me for two slides. She asks someone else for two. And so forth. Then she turns around and says she worked sooo hard on it... when she couldn't even articulate what she needed or explain what she has.
Ultimately, I don't mind that much. While my own boss never advocates for our team (she is afraid to challenge the next level up in any way. You should have seen her eyes when I suggested someone should tell the Executives that they were wrong.)--the people from other departments I work with are very loyal and vocal about my worth.
Truthfully, I have no desire be the delegator and politics-navigator... so more power to her.
