I love ZINES, and independent magazines and newspapers… For me, the written word, alone or in combination with pictures or illustrations, is powerful, enlightening, comforting, exciting, hot or simply funny. Although there is wonderful digital media, I need a real Zine (publication). I want to touch the paper, feel the weight of the printed or xeroxed word, smell its oudor. I love every single of my ziness - the per-zine, the fanzine and - especially my photoZines. Yeah, ziness really are gritty and arouses the DIY beast in me . It’s important that we hold onto that tactility and not get too sucked into our digital realms. Abdul Dube - zinester, collecto
