11th Hour Hawtness
This is the 5th in the series of 12 designs I created for my exhibition at UMOCA, and my favorite among the works that I created for the whole show. I call this design "11th Hour Hawtness" because It was really a miracle that this design came together at all - I had both of my render boxes busy and cranking away on the last 12 frames of my "Infinite Staircase" design, but it would have taken both machines another 8 hours to complete their task, and time was running out! I had an appointment to install the presentation machine loaded with my content 2 hours from that point! It was absolutely one of those "Oh shit" moments. So I stopped the render and started something new from scratch.
I had really wanted to create a new a reflective rainbow design like "Reflect Halos" for my show, but previous to that point, the inspiration had not yet come. Well, this was my last chance to bang out some rainbows before the content selection for my show was set in stone. So I set to work, and a few happy accidents later, I pulled this masterpiece off in just 1 hour. I think that it is honestly one of the most inspired works I've made in over a year.
This GIF is one in a set named “11th Hour Hawtness”, a design I created for my exhibition at the Utah Museum Of Contemporary Art (UMOCA), which ran from September 19th until October 16th, 2014.
