I'm debating putting together a paper on implications of names due to theology. Something really fascinating I've been studying lately is where our concept of monotheism came from, and how it seems to have influenced modern society.
In particular, I find it interesting how so many Christians seem convinced that they believe in the one true God, when there are actually two different Gods mentioned in the first two chapters of Genesis. It's almost like a somewhat diverse collection of mythologies were mushed together, partly from Judaism and partly from the Council of Nicea, and made a sort of theologic lump which has caused no end of grief.
I wonder what would happen if I could use a time machine to go back in time and give Saul a better saddle so he wouldn't fall off that horse.
