This plot of land is in a constant make-over. For a long time it was nothing but a dumping site for trash until last summer the local youth association claimed the space and made it a venue to hang out. With recent road and sewer works a bulldozer wiped off all that work and left behind only rubble and now a new entrepreneur occupies half of the plot, selling melons. The other half is still a dumping place. The semi-finished building right next to it on the left was taken over by a daara a few years ago and the empty plot has served also as their toilet ever since. Half-finished buildings are often squatted by daaras, or sheep are kept in them for as long for as the building stands.

Sandwich bar, 2021
The latest development on the same spot, photographed yesterday (14 February 2021). The watermelons are gone and the space has been taken over by someone who sells baguettes and pain-thon type of sandwiches. I suppose with time the area will have some chairs or benches for customers, and some shade from the sun.
