My name is Aleksandr Tishkov and I am interdisciplinary artist originally from Estonia and currently studying at Central Saint Martins in London.
In my practice I try to explores and experiment with integration of architectural elements and everyday objects from both personal and collective historical background into the atmosphere of today. Historical significance of a particular situation allows to contrapose past and present states of objects.
Recently I have been inspired and at the same time shocked by the cultural heritage loss happened recently in the Middle East. The problem pushed me to work a lot with problems regarding impermanence, cultural loss, authenticity and identity.
