ALPA 12 MAX
ALPA History - 20th/70th anniversary - 2008: In 2008 the „digital revolution“ with digital Medium Format backs was reaching a first peak. We at ALPA decided that there will be a need for a more compact camera for architecture, landscape and automotive photography. So we did the ALPA 12 MAX: more compact, lighter than the XY and movements adjusted to the smaller image circles of digital lenses. The MAX is still the most sought-after camera for this purposes. Todays Mk II knobs were changed from silver to black with a locking mechanism for the rise and fall. Also the MAX features a rigid frame with hard points optimal for car rigs and sturdy attachments. Not cheap but more than handy. Due to its modularity you can still use it with the newest digital back. We build our cameras to last and not just to be replaced by the next model.
Short description: Modular medium format camera for film up to 6x9 and digital.
