ALPA 12 FPS
ALPA History - 20th/70th anniversary - 2012: What happens if you want to go beyond what was done before? What happens if you want to give your customers new options after vital components may get extinct? We did the ALPA 12 FPS. At Photokina 2012 we introduced the muli-use, muli-role camera body that today „speaks“ the most languages in all Medium Format. Wanna use super fast Canon EF glass like the EF 85/1.2? You can! Wanna use a super wide tilt/shift lens like the EF 17 mm/4? You can! Wanna re-use your old Nikon or whatever glass? You can! You can of course use the majority of the excellent ALPA lenses from Rodenstock too. We just introduced lens modules so the ALPA 12 FPS also speaks Contax 645, Hasselblad H and Rollei 6000. A new life to your old glass! Now with real movements and integration of the Hasselblad and Rollei leaf shutter and enhancing these lenses with the fastest shutter times of 1/4000 sec of the FPS’ focal plane shutter. Seamlessly integrated. The image shows the ALPA 12 FPS with the classical viewfinder, hand grip and a super fast Canon EF 85/1.2 on an electronically controlled ALPA/Canon adapter. The lens might not cover the complete image circle of your digital back… but where else do you get f1.2 in medium format and this tiny depth of field? The FPS is not a toy but you will love to play with it! We build our cameras to last and not just to be replaced by the next model.
