In the dusty corners and long-forgotten hideaways
Thoughts that ricochet,
Bouncing off glass as fragile as your bones.
Fill my lungs with sound.
Gasp out a whisper in the wake of a hurricane.
Words falling like rain,
The storms I’ve seen
Never as violent as the air
A library full of places you’ve never been.
Florescent lights to make you think you’re somewhere the sun has seen.
A solar system between my fingers
A world behind my eyes.
There are no stars in the city,
No city in my bones
The sky is a looking glass.
The world is upside down and inside out
Time is coming and I don’t know where to find her.
Doors creak and walls tall
Pace the floor ‘til you know what you’re looking for.
Feet trapped beneath the carpet.
Running through my veins like water down the drain.
I’m sure I have tides in my heart,
Waxing and waning with the moon.
A constant struggle;
Loves me not.
The heart is fickle.
Like a tap dripping in the night.
Seeping through the cracks in the window pane.
Blow out the cobwebs.
The world is yours for the taking.
Holding hands in the bus stop queue,
