I couldn't sleep last night until I was certain that the Ello app for iOS was in the App Store and I had it downloaded on my phone. The Ello team was on Slack all night, exchanging Gifs and giddily waiting until midnight ET for @dcdoran to hit the button to make it live. It felt like New Year's Eve, only better. And when the app hit the store, there was a palpable feeling of victory.
Ello was recently named a Tech Insurgent by the Observer, and "insurgent" feels like a good description for us. In an era where corporations can be treated like people, when the price you pay for going online is your own privacy and that of your loved ones, Ello stands apart.
I've never worked with a team of idealists quite like this. The men and women of Ello are committed to creating an incredible and beautiful social network where people are valued over profits. Everything about Ello is focused with we the people in mind. Ello is for all of us. Go use it.
