When we were walking along 5th Avenue in NY, I wanted to pause in front of each store window as you do in front of painting. Finding a place out of the fast moving traffic--balancing on the edge of the sidewalk between the rushing people and loud cars--I could take a few minutes to view the surreal fashion-fairy-tales in the middle of the very real world of the NY sidewalks. We took the time to view it as you would a painting, moving in (tactfully avoiding people) to view the details and comment on the content or process of creation. As we walked away from Bergdorf Goodmans, I nearly collided with a woman that looked as though she stepped right out of the fairy-tale window. You don't always get that in a museum.
