Amy Liu, a Chinese-Canadian Illustrator studying in Baltimore at the Maryland Institute College of Art. My work is ever-changing and evolving with my personal interests, aesthetically or culturally.
The work above, though not directly inspired by community, definitely allude to or connect with it. The first, titled "Crowd Control" , speaks, in part, about community engagement and how that brings people together. The second, titled "Ma of Dragons", is inspired by the aesthetics and celebration of Chinese New Year, which is one of the most communal events in my life growing up whether that be within my family or within the Chinese-Canadian population of my hometown.
