Facial expressions l Outline - Gray - Color
This is the beginning stage of my character concept. The stage after hand-drawn sketches.
I always make outlined illustrations so I can decide which shapes are necessary and which I can remove.
After that I am making a grey version, this allows me to see the contrast without color to interrupt.
As all of us do, I am going through my research (inspiration) board and I am carefully watching colors
- to pick for my palette.
When I decide on the color, shapes, and details that I want to include, I am trying to picture the variety of emotion.
It gives me the freedom to play with character and to find out If I want to change the color of him in some scene so I can exaggerate emotions and connect him to the audience.
