So ello is giving me a little bit of new stuff from my favorite social network peeps. It looks like they've addressed some of the more egregiously annoying bugs (cough, cough, bad design decisions), like I can now hit "return" inside this textbox and get a new paragraph.
I've been reading some articles about Ello (http://www.businessweek.com/articles/2014-09-30/interview-ello-ceo-wants-to-be-the-anti-facebook) and (https://medium.com/@jvdgoot/ello-a-design-disaster-d53022ab3a62 <-- already somewhat obsolete) and (http://heatherquinnell.wordpress.com/2014/09/24/taking-ello/). People are definitely passionate about this new network.
I'm thinking about how they can monetize it. What are some features that people are going to be willing to pay for? Will we be paying to make our profile more awesome, or to make it easier to reach others? Will we be paying to be able to post more creative stuff? What will be the role of businesses and marketers on Ello? Right now, on FB and Twitter, businesses pay to be able to reach individuals, but individuals can't pay to hide. Will we have to pay for privacy on Ello?
Will we be able to pay to have someone banned?
Will there be involvement in choosing which features to build?
