Image from ‘Loomings’ a collaboration with David Ogle
Over much of this year I’ve been heading out to beaches, caves, forests and dunes with David Ogle to document his latest work 'Loomings' with Mark Devereux Projects. It’s been a real privilege to see & photograph such strange light & forms. With smoke drifting through dead forests, lasers and balls of light at 3am and sunlight creating beams of light through the tree line, there has been some unique views to document, one of which you can see here.
As well as photographing we also filmed David’s work to capture the movement and flow of the strange shapes of smoke and light. One of these works, 'Ray' is going to be shown for the first time at Bury Art Museum & Sculpture Centre from 27 February - 14 May 2016.
Heres a quote from David about the work
‘With this project, my practice has moved beyond the walls of indoor sites and out into the landscape, documenting ephemeral works that are shaped by natural elements and freed-up from the confines of interior spaces. Capturing works that only exist as brief, environmental occurrences, the video and images we produce are ‘postcards’ of events that happened in a specific place and a narrow window of time; frozen within the frame of a photograph.’
