One Day in Byron... Byron, CA
What remains of the Byron Hot Springs Hotel, built in 1915. The site was taken over by the U.S. Government during World War 2 and served as a Japanese internment camp renamed as Camp Tracy. After the war the Greek Orthodox Church purchased it and it served as the Monastery St. Paul. The hotel was designed by James and Merritt Reid, who also designed the historic Fairmont Hotel which still sits atop Nob Hill in San Francisco.
There have been plans to build a new resort on the property for a number of years now. http://byronhotsprings.com/
