Frustrated and unable to trust her team of advisors with a task of such magnitude, Queen Horatia took it upon herself to handpick a crack team of botanists and explorers to help her retrieve the Petal Cyclone Peony from the mountainous archipelago of Cynaesthesia. She had grown tired of people’s ineptitude over the past few months and decided that if she wanted the flower to be successfully transported back to Isochronus, she would have to lead the expedition herself. However, with her citizens seemingly getting worse from the illness and the black market of illegal medicines spiralling out of control, she ultimately recognised that she was better placed to help her citizens by staying in Isochronus - and so, begrudgingly, she relented. Led by the kingdom’s most trusted Navigator, the explorers set sail the very next morning.
From the shoreline, the Isochronus Stag looked towards the ships as they drifted peacefully towards the fragile morning light. His magnificent antlers, once adorned with a jubilant flourish of golden leaves, were now bare and stark, and his fawn coloured fur had grown out into a luxuriously dense pale-grey coat. As the Stag walked away from the shoreline, dark storm clouds began to gather above Isochronus.
