Caitlin McDonagh (@caitlinmcdonagh)
Caitlin McDonagh is a Canadian visual artist, illustrator, and muralist who creates intricate illustrative works that are deeply inspired by folklore, symbolism, and the natural world. Her goal with her work is to build her own personal folklore; work that leaves doors open within it, allowing the viewer to add to the story while finding parts of themselves within it.

This is me. I currently reside in Seattle, WA. I consider myself a visual communicator and journalist recording through photography and sometimes videography. I ride mountain bikes, snowboard, climb, descend and adventure as far as my toyota, boots, board, bike, or feet will take me. I love the outdoors and I love people who strive to keep it wild. I am fascinated with photography and its ability to introduce entire worlds that wouldn't exist without it.
I have been know to crush a few beers, scale a mountain on my bike from time to time just for fun and can be caught foraging for mushrooms in spring and fall.
Oh yeah and I like

I run and sew for my heart. It's fun!
Working in partnership with the artisan weaver of rugs, GUR invites artists to express themselves on this support with a very specific technique using the same materials with the authenticity of a traditional kitchen rug but now much more fun. GUR can be the first place where you put your feet in the morning, a picnic friend or a frame in your living room. Hopefully the collection will keep on growing with new collaborations, keep on checking then!

In my art, I study people and their mutual connections. These relationships are a recurring theme. My work is an ongoing study, and each single work is a link, a next step in my process. Each work teaches me something about my relationship towards others, about mutual connections and bonds.
Loneliness, power, control, dependency and trust are recurring themes.
