The first Illustration is inspired by African Royalty, the braided crown styled with luxury gold wraps symbolises the richness and power of a strong black woman. The gold, red and black design of the outfit also reflects this.
The second illustration is more modern, the dress is very couture with a sprinkle of ethnicity, with its african style prints and texture. I added a head wrap, matching the green floral prints seen on the dress. Feminity is reflected through the bow on the head wear.
The final illustration is quite young and modern, but still reflects the escence of the african fashion through the cut of the angles in the outfit. I added gold arm cuffs for a tribal look.
I used red as I felt it showed boldness and confidence. I wanted to keep the hair loose and free as it resembled a lions mane; which is its pride!
