Embrace your friend the uni-sloth
With onyx scales
and fur like cloth
that's woven from sea foam and fluff
And when you meet his mother- Gruff,
though she may seem, when fist you meet
it turns out soon that she's as sweet --
as all the treats that you can fetch,
Straight from her maw with cupcake breath.
And more adventures lie in store,
when forth you venture from that shore
Uni-sloths gather and gently gaze,
as down you tumble through the waves.
Your ermine shrug, you shrug it off
it dances through the water's trough
and down and down you dive with glee
past green kelp castles floating free
when full of joy, you finally see
your heart's dear friend -- Come dance with me!
Then paw in hand you start to spin,
the dance comes purely from within ...
The two of you wash up on shore,
exhausted, happy to the core ---
and slump with warm and friendly sighs
dance dreams still whirling in your eyes
you wear your crowns like lullabies.

We made this back in 2012. For a while David was my boss, that's how we got to know each other, then he moved back to NY but he's a brilliant mind and soul I'll always cherish bumping into. He's forever the reluctant great mentor, biting your head off with a funny razor sharp comment in one moment, only to give you forever in depth important advice the next.
