Sunflowers are not moon flowers
The imposing and brilliant flower. Heliotropism, spinning with the sun.
Through the world, representing fertility, happiness and luck.
The seed that feeds birds in captivity and inhibits invasive herbs.
Sadly spread as a small cut flower.
Like a shadow needing light, in the darkest moments
You've always been my kind
But you know, I've never been much.
much less five feet six inches of sun.
I look like the night,
When I was just a caged bird,
You fed me with
But you know, I've always been unexpected, unwanted,
like a weed.
Ironic you, son of the moon
like a sunflower.
Sorry to have
like a cut flower to sell,
