Ello is one of the most unintuitive user experiences I've ever seen. Talk about an overhyped "Facebook Killer". My previous post has a "11m" (that I can only assume means 11 minutes ago), if I put my mouse over it, I can click it to generate a permalink. How does the posted time relate to a permalink at all. The smiley face logo is all over the place (with the auto-followed user, the logo, etc), it's not immediately clear which one is the user avatar and which one is the site icon. Sometimes it's clickable, sometimes it's not. The little indicators and icons aren't great and there's no clear separation between sections of the site - e.g. the news feed (whatever you call it), the sidebar with the friends list, and the mast-head. They all smush together.
Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge proponent of minamalist and flat UI styles, but only when it's intuitive. This is not. @ello
