Celebrate my colors
And you celebrate my soul
The more colors you see
The more you'll know of you and me
This work is submitted on behalf of my daughter Aria Luna. She has always seen—and drawn—herself with her amber olive skin, and celebrated that physicality naturally. As a child, she draws people the way children see people: the way they are, in all their shapes, sizes and colors. As an artist, she draws them the way artists see into the soul of the world—with all the colors our hearts are capable of sensing. Regardless of what we've been taught.
