In a time where mass media is controlled and manipulated, the artist remains one of the few left who are free from political filters regarding their platform. Questioning the world that has been skewed for consumption, depicting these contemporary inhumanities is an act of resistance. These works openly address the racist actions and figures in a country that prides itself on freedom. Racism has always existed in America, but now it's being documented through social media. I believe there should be no more excuses and no more mainstream news tip toeing around the subject in hopes of saving face. These are acts of hate. They are criminals. This is our reality.
Name: Armando Cabba
Location: (Born Montreal, Canada) Paris, France
Armando Cabba’s body of work primarily consist of the duality of portraiture and abstraction along with everything in between. Branching off through traditional portraiture, the artist explores his intimate emotional anatomy within himself while opening the dialogue concerning mental health. Cabba's painting boldly dives into political issues in the same manner he dissects himself in his self portraits.
