Recently promoted to Costume Supervisor of Merola Opera Program for young artists, Nikki has just wrapped up the summer season’s first show, Mozart’s Il re pastore. Working with the show’s costume designer Callie Floor, Nikki helped source all the pieces needed and created costume plots that helped track the garments throughout production. Now moving into the summer’s second production, The Rake’s Progress, her contract has again been extended for another 6 months.
“I did random things everyday. I didn’t know anything but that’s how you learn. You’re running around doing it all trying to learn the odds and ends. I would go to the warehouses with the coordinator and organize things send out clothes to be dry cleaned. It was great. That’s where I saw all the pieces the costume shop had made.”
