Julia Wald is a Seattle artist formerly from the Rust Belt. Her India ink work reflects her fears and fantasies from growing up in a provincial environment of urban property. Wald's work ranges from lighthearted intricate googly-eyed bugs and fish, tiny monsters on index cards, large elaborate cityscapes, and mixed-media portrait collages. Wald's collage work combines original illustrations and hand-cut paper to create pieces that are more powerful than their individual parts. Wald's work uses India ink in my forms and shows the versatility of ink work.
