As we tip toe along this tight rope of adulthood, we sometimes forget what awaits us on the other side of that rope. Our only selfish hope is to not fall and so most of us don’t look down while we should be analyzing the whole bit. We prance around in our egocentric ways leaving a trail of bread crumbs and destruction for others to clean up after. Those others is always the next generation; our kids, your kids, my kid and their kids. Our generation is still mending the world from our predecessors and yet here we are shortening that rope even more for the kids to teeter. One day, if we don’t look down, we may not realize that we’re at the end of the rope and there will be no rope left for the kids. But the kids are resilient. Let’s hope time is too.
