Also recently (as in within the last two months) watched Ghost in the Shell: Arise, which is a newish reboot. Batou and the Major seemed fine character-wise, but some of the others were way off base to the point they were distracting. Bouma and Saito in particular were jarring and way off base. Still worth the viewing time.
