I'm pretty sure I had what amounts to a lucid dream last night, but interpreted in a strange way. In the dream, I'm on this cruise ship. I'm meeting and interacting with a large variety of people. However, near the end of the first day, I'm talking to these two women at a fruit buffet. One of them asks me to hand them an apple, which I do. But I slip and accidnetally bump the apple out of her hand. But she continues to mime the action of eating the apple as if nothing is odd. No one else seemed to find this suspicious either, so I think to myself "Fuck! These are all NPCs!"
I spend the remainder of the dream noticing the triggers and systems that are keeping what I've determined to be an elaborate simulation running and attempting to break or subvert them. I walked away from this with three pieces of introspection:
1) My dreams get way weirder when I'm sick.
2) It's sad, but also somewhat appropriate the I interpret things in terms of games.
3) In the dream, once I realized the things were scripted and unreal, I felt absolutely no fear or anxiousness, and instead was extremely pleased to know that could wrest control of my life away from it's design, something I've yet to feel terribly capable of during my waking hours. I find this also somewhat amusing.
