BIO: Writer, visual artist and videomaker. Cultural producer, art-educator and poet. Father, pirate and so on. Multitasking, multimedia or neo-renaissance are terms that try to define Baga Defente, Brazilian artist who uses Chance as his main creative tool.
In 2011 he changed the gray of the city by the green of the countryside and since then he lives in a rural neighborhood in a small town, dedicating himself to his artistic production and acting professionally as a writer, videomaker and freelance graphic artist at NADA ∴ Creative Studio, a mix of agency, production house and creative bureau coordinated by the artist.
As an art educator, he taught workshops and workshops in the areas of Audiovisual, Poetry and Visual Arts, ranging from early childhood to university students and residents of rural settlements.
Since 2015 he has also been dedicated to independent publishing, having published 3 books of poems in handmade editions, limited to 50 copies each, made one by one by the author, as well as an illustrated children's story, among other publications. Videoartist, in the last two years had his works exhibited in seven countries, often being the only representative of Brazil in the video poetry genre.
All these activities are connected and interconnected by the Poetics of Chance, that is, the influence of random and uncontrollable events in artistic creation, in an exercise of phenomenological observation of everyday life, subject of the artist’s theoretical and practical researches.
