ARTIST STATEMENT AND BIO:
Nikos Sola is a photographer and filmmaker interested in forgotten and disliked populations and motivated by the fabric of social, racial, and gender injustice. Rather than sharing the sensational stories of these places, Nikos seeks to share the actions and behaviors that make up daily life. In so doing, he allows us to walk down streets and through lives as locals in corners of the world where we are anything but.
Nikos grew up in New Haven, CT, and holds a BFA in Photography from Parsons School of Design, and his most recent show features work from his time spent living in Nablus, Palestine. Additional recent reportage features populations throughout the Middle East, Europe, Asia, the South Pacific, and North America.
