Our home state of Colorado has its' second new identity in 5 years. Sadly, the recently unveiled logo is underwhelming at best, a visual mess at worst.
Colorado is a special place. Diverse and aspirational. From the unique mix of people calling it home to the varying biomes and terrain types that make up the ecosystem and landscape.
Colorado’s identity should inspire and reflect this diversity — it should connect and unite Coloradans, visitors, and onlookers alike. It should serve as a vessel to house, carry and grow all of the ideas, feelings, and ambitions collectively held about Colorado.
We worked on the proposal for the (now old) Colorado logo in 2013. Our solution was one of two finalists for consideration. Ultimately, it was not selected. It's not perfect, no identity system is, but 6 six years later it still serves Colorado well.
