Here's a bit about me, why I'm here, and what I'm interested in... I'm among the youngest of the baby boomers. Old enough to remember the 60's, but too young to have been allowed in the door at the party. I'm well into my fourth decade of taking and making photos. Nothing professional, just a passion. Started with a Minolta SRT-101 and a darkroom in the garage.
My day job is superintendent of a public elementary school district in Southern California, but I started my professional life as a music teacher, later taught BASIC programming to 7th graders on Apple IIe's with 5.25" floppy disks. My family is full of artists - father was an interior designer, daughter is an artist/illustrator, step-dad ran the graphic arts program at the University of Arizona. Step-kids are musicians and my beautiful wife is a singer and recently a mosaic fanatic.
I'm here to look at inspirational photography, art, design and to be part of this fascinating new community. I intend to post some of my photos - ones I like and ones that have generated positive responses from others. I've got a pretty good handle on techniques and my tastes tend to be eclectic.
What I don't seem to have is anything approximating a personal style. For today at least, that's what I'm looking to establish and evolve.
