We all know there’s no hell, but if there was it would be packed wall to wall with christian (and other) hypocrites. But I want to add that I in general have nothing against those with different beliefs than me, what I dislike is those who use that belief to tell others what’s good or bad.
I’ve been raised in a christian environment I’ve seen it up and close who pastors, adults and up and coming career christians say one thing and do another. This is something that’s been constant, just like with the politicians who who want to ban one thing and then go and break every damn law there is to do the same thing themselves.
The nature of the human animal is to do what it want to want to do, but is hindered by absurd unwritten laws of morality, often regulated by self-proclaimed guardians of virtue. This often leads to a controlling behaviour where one person’s or organization’s morale is expected to the morale of the masses.
But should we really mind what the masses do if we ourselves do what we want - inside the circle of decency (murder, unprovoked violence, all kinds of sexual abuse etc) of course? The answer is a hard yes. The masses create their own herd mentality and creates a morale of their own, where anyone who breaks their rules is punished one way or another.
We can stay away from the masses and become hermits or we can embrace the masses and show them there’s freedom to be found in oneselves. The last option is of course the best, for everyone, but life as hermit can be an excellent way of living a life fulfilled with everyone one might love.
I rather live a life where I’m shunned by the sheeple than being controlled by them.
