Dirty hands... new work.
Ariadne is known as the Goddess of labyrinths, vegetation, paths and passion. She was the daughter of Minos, King of Crete. Her father put her in charge of an elaborate labyrinth where sacrifices were made as part of reparations to Poseidon, at the center of which lived the Minotaur, a creature with the head of a bull and the body of a man. Seven young men and seven young maidens were to be sacrificed to the Minotaur every 7 years. One year, one of the sacrificed was to be Theseus, with whom she had fallen in love. She gave Theseus a sword and ball of string so he could slay the Minotaur and find his way back out and so saved the other victims, as well.
The weighty Ariadne Cuff in solid sterling silver is reminiscent of vines and dense vegetation. Wear it all on its own or layered with your favorite pieces. This one is an extra small for a fine-boned wrist - an inside measurement of 5" with a 1" opening. She is in the shop. 🌿
