Just had the dumbest conversation while trying to sort something out with my bank.
me: hi, I got a message from you about an issue I had, my name is Julia, my acct number is xxxxxx
teller: oh ok, yes, I'm with someone at the moment, can I call you back?
me: can I just make an appt?
teller, yeah, well, I'm not free right this minute
me: yes, that's why I'd like to make an appt.
teller: can you hold please?
teller: ok so when would you like your appt, I'm not free right now.
me: yeah, I'm not there right now, as soon as you're free? Around 1:30 maybe? (Call is taking place around 12:45)
teller: oh I'm sorry I go to lunch from 1:30 to 2.
me: so is 2:15 good?
now, maybe I'm just annoyed because the issue I'm dealing with is a little stupid to begin with, but I find it a little odd and unsettling that the person who is going to be handling the situation is so easily flustered by a phone call to make an appt. I wasn't angry, I wasn't demanding immediate service, and all she seemed to be able to respond with was that she's not available at this moment. Lol, no shit, that's what appointments are for. Also, when someone asks to make an appt, I'm pretty sure that's a good time to mention when you'll be out of the office, not after they've tried to guess when you have free time. /end rant.
tl:dr; where do you bank? Are the tellers competent?
