"Indigo Snow"; watercolour on paper.
So here's my story, Part 6:
It's funny how TBI and amnesia affect one's thinking. At any given moment, I would forget where I was: I would be driving around Orange County, CA, and then immediately believe I was in Sedona, AZ; or I'd be typing up an email at my studio, and then mentally flip to having a coffee in Midtown Atlanta, GA.
While in the Continental U.S., I wanted to take advantage of being in this expansive landscape. So I wandered around a bit: Seattle; South Padre Island; Las Vegas; Chicago; Dover; El Paso; D.C.; and all kinds of other places. Everywhere I went, I kept absorbing the art, the culture, all the while I kept sketching, too.
Also, I spent some time in my other home town of Atlanta, GA. Like the kudzu, I was a transplant from across the ocean, but I managed to put down roots and grow in different ways throughout the Deep South.
And then I left America again, but this time I went to the countries along the northern Mediterranean, to get in touch with the other parts of my family's heritage.
