I decided to do a small series of 7-ish videos on YouTube called Beginnings. Here's the first one, and it's about why I decided to start writing.
The intention behind this project is to create an archive of what my experiences have been as a writer just starting out. Maybe it'll be useful for other people who want to write, or maybe I'll just look back on it and laugh at how naive I am.
I'm trying my absolute hardest to not pretend I'm a guru on the topic of writing. I'm not. I'm an absolute beginner. No degree in literature. No published works. Hell, I've only been reading books for fun for a few years. It's all framed as thoughts and ideas and experiments.
Next week's video is going to be about the specific details on starting to write—getting over my self-doubt, useful resources I read, and why reading has helped me a bunch.
