Project 3 Introduction and Inspiration:
For project three, the main theme and concept has to do with nature, and the idea of incorporating a diptych into our design. For this project, we can use photoshop and illustrator, but I am leaning towards attempting to create my piece with strictly illustrator. For this project, I am not interested in trying to display a very loud message about environmental issues, I would much rather like to create a pretty and aesthetic piece that displays the beauty of two aspects of nature I found myself photographing.
The two aspects of nature I found myself photographing was water and land, and the meeting place of both of these aspects. I love how they are so different (dry vs wet) but yet are so interconnected in unified byways that we sometimes can't see. I want to directly show the contrast and interconnection of both land and water in my piece. I also want to highlight the beauty and small details that can come with these things. I think color matching will come pretty naturally with the pictures I took.
I was inspired stylistically by an album cover I saw for the band Clean Bandit. I found that this geometric subject replacement was very aesthetic and cool to look at, and I decided I wanted to try and emulate this idea in my own piece. Below are a few images of what I found to be inspiring.
