- Photos i took for Donna Missal. (photos 1 & 2 are 35mm film and photo 3 is 120mm film)
- I have been shooting photos since april of 2017. I got a bit of a late start, as I got my first camera for my 30th birthday. I am self-taught and still have so much to learn! This was my first shoot using continuous lighting. I am very proud of these photos. I have yet to venture into the digital world. For now I should on a medium format pentax and a 35mm pentax. I love shooting. I love the feeling of anxiety that crawls around my body before I drop a roll of film or to be developed. It’s so very exciting.
3.Parts of community can be really lonely. I personally have found it very difficult to create a solid creative community. There are moments where I feel very isolated. I captured Donna in different settings--having dinner alone, exploring caves alone, having a drink alone. Getting dressed up and waiting. Sometimes I tell myself that if I continue to work on me and dress my part when it's right, I will find the people I need. A lot of my work focuses on the glow of individuals. Figuring out how to be self-healthy and self-loving in order to give the most for their community.
- For now I post my work on my instagram. Instagram.com/yazzalali
