July 3rd in 1969 was the day when a talented beautiful artist left this world,I'm speaking of Lewis Brian H. Jones England's lost treasure.
When I was growing up in mid to late 60s Brian was everything that I wanted to be!
Impossibly handsome,exotic and ridiculously musical,he was like the template of what a Rock and Roll star should and could be.
No-one and I do mean no-one could better embody the flamboyance of that mid late 60s era better than Brian Jones.
So,to this very day I tell anyone who'll listen Brian WAS the Rolling Stones,he pioneered the introduction of a myriad of weird and wonderful instruments in Rock music that went on to become the norm.
So when revisionist historians speak about Jagger Richards Rolling Stones they are REALLY speaking about a Chelmsford boy who formed the group then collected it's members and gave them their name.
Never equalled and never bettered shine on Brian....we haven't forgotten who you are.
