Been reading Elvis Costello’s amazing new autobiography, Unfaithful Music & Disappearing Ink.
I’ve always loved EC for the unapologetic rage that’s the heart of his music. Anger well channelled can be beautiful, especially when it's used to create art that is delicate, while still cutting through the garbage to the truth. This is in contrast to ugly anger, which callously uses technology to make a profit at any price, funds wars, and tries to elect ignorant reality TV stars president.
Ello grew out of its founders fury at the way online culture was heading. This network was built out of love, too, but that’s a different story.
Unbridled creativity moves the world forward.
