One of my favorite toys ever:
The Swizz Beats Peecol created by @eboy when I still owned and ran Kidrobot.
Peecols are modular toys that come in half, so you can switch legs and heads between different models.
Swizz and I were friends — he used to show up at my office about four hours late and text me, "Yo Paul, I'm downstairs in the Bentley."
I was totally broke at the time, having put everything into Kidrobot, which was only sort of working. The company lost more money than it made every month, and was constantly threatening to go out of business. So it was fun to ride around in a giant butter-colored limousine and listen to whatever new song Swizz was working on and eat Chinese food instead of worrying about bankruptcy and making payroll.
I'm not generally star-struck, and as a rule I'm shy and avoid celebrities. But Swizzy is such a nice person, he's fundamentally kind in an uncomplicated way, and it was encouraging when I felt like the company was falling apart to spend time with him and his endless positivity. And after all, the company did grow, and art toys became a "thing", and we were successful for a while.
So we made this toy, which turned out to be ultra-rare — I think we made only a few hundred copies.
