Twitter announces that they've put billions of tweets up for sale to corporations, advertisers, and data miners. Everything you tweet belongs to them, not to you.
It is hard to even express how ridiculous this is. We don't need more intrusion by companies selling things to us. We need less. Human beings should not be for sale. Big corporations whose only mission is to make money for their investors do not necessarily have our best interests at heart.
The fact that executives at Twitter try to spin this as a good thing for people reminds me of cigarette execs in the 70's denying that cigarettes could kill you. How do these guys look at themselves in the mirror every morning?
Ello will never, ever sell your data to advertisers. Never. Read Ello's PBC charter for more details.
