Never leave home without it
I was at home this morning when I realized how serious and important this concept is. A photographer should never leave home without their camera.
I got a call from my mom.
"Hurry up and get Khyra. Look out the window or run outside. There's a hot air balloon!"
I jump up, wrestle up my daughter (Khyra) and as I'm saying, "Okay, yea, bye." I hang up my iPhone and we dart to the patio. I wont tell you how we looked. Thank God we live on the top floor.
We could practically reach out and touch the balloon. We could HEAR the fire as the balloon lifted! I was in ecstasy! And guess what. I had my camera! Right in my hand! After I hung it up I hit my ProCam app and went to town. Took about 8 shots. The above was my favorite. The below was kinda cool too.
It took the balloon about 3 minutes to pass over our apartment. I was able to get shots with the balloon at least in 4 different horizon points. Pretty cool! Had I needed to go back and grab my camera, who knows.
What other lesson did I have reinforced:
1. Take more than one shot of the same thing - readjust your angles and focus to create different feelings and what not.
2. Clean off your patio so you can actually lean on the ledge and see your shot better :)
I think that's it!
