Julia Kwon (@juliakwon)
Julia Kwon sews interpretative bojagi—Korean object-wrapping cloths historically created since the early Joseon Dynasty (1392–1910)—and wraps hollow human-scale figures with them to comment on the objectification of Asiatic female bodies. Further, she embeds patterns from contemporary sociopolitical events to challenge the notion of authenticity and examine the complexities of constructing identities within the context of cultural hybridity, intersectionality, and the collective struggle for social justice. GUR (@rugbygur)
Working in partnership with the artisan weaver of rugs, GUR invites artists to express themselves on this support with a very specific technique using the same materials with the authenticity of a traditional kitchen rug but now much more fun. GUR can be the first place where you put your feet in the morning, a picnic friend or a frame in your living room. Hopefully the collection will keep on growing with new collaborations, keep on checking then!
Rick Veerle (@rickandveerle)
Rick and Veerle met during their study at the Art Academie, they live and together for several years now. After a few years of making art separately they decided in 2011 to combine forces. This resulted in a colourful collaboration where paint and textile meet. Every work is an explosion of lively forms and colours that will shower the spectator with positive energy.
