Ello development update, Dec 17 2014
The Ello crew has been working hard on a bunch of very exciting, but larger features, which is why I haven't had much to post about in the past week. We've got our heads down, building, fixing and prototyping, but there's some great stuff in store
In the meantime, we've fixed some notable issues:
Pasting text into the Omnibar now maintains line breaks. We heard a lot about this issue and snuck in a fix this week Props to @666 for the fixfixfix
Users were seeing duplicates in their search results and feeds last week, but that's looking good now
A lot of users should've seen a solid bump in site performance last week due to some massive database optimizations from the man @mikepack
While launching some of these upgrades yesterday, comments were accidentally hidden for about 30 minutes, but we caught and fixed that quickly as well (thanks to @jejacks0n). Thanks for all of your help letting us know when things don't look quite right Our beta testers are the best
We've been doing a ton of work to fix and upgrade things behind the scenes as we prepare to unveil a slew of new Ello features. It's an exciting time, and 2015 is going to be huge.
Extra shoutouts to more of the Ello crew for their work here:
@anna keeps blowing my mind with her efficiency, productivity and spirit in her many duties.
@dcdoran is keeping us organized and has completely transformed our daily routine and team dynamics.
@todd and @lucian are tireless and amazing, and keep taking up more space on the walls of my home with their great art.
@mk and @jayzes are paving the way forward for the dev team in ways that only they can.
And of course @budnitz for going all in on creating big things for the world with such gusto and style - the fact that I get to work with these fine people is truly amazing.
One final shoutout to the other people helping out behind the scenes - we're growing, but only with the best people we can find
Thanks for being here with us
