I am a freelance illustrator and graphic designer based Taiwan. I graduated from National Taiwan University of Arts with a degree of visual communication design. My works focus on my main interests in life: animals, nature, literature, and all kinds of my daily fantasies. I use watercolor and digital tools for most of my works.
This illustration was inspired by Emily Bronte's famous novel, Wuthering Heights. There is one quote from the novel that made a deep impression in my mind: "Heaven did not seem to be my home; and I broke my heart with weeping to come back to earth; and the angels were so angry that they flung me out into the middle of the heath on the top of Wuthering Heights; where I woke sobbing for joy." I think this quote put emphasis on how the value of a community is a fluid rather than fixed thing. Heaven might commonly represents the ideal community, yet for people who reject common ideal like the heroine, Catherine, it might be a place of misplacement. I try to visualize my own imagination of the passage in this illustration and represent the heroine as a part of the environmental community of Wuthering Heights , which was made up by the natural landscape of the moors and people living there.
