Karla Marchesi holds Bachelor of Fine Art (2004) and Honours in Fine Art (2007) degrees from the Queensland College of Art, Griffith University, where she received the University Medal for academic excellence and the Honours Thesis Prize. Marchesi received the Philip Bacon Galleries Prize for Excellence in Drawing in 2003, enabling her to study for a semester at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, US. Marchesi has held solo exhibitions in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney, Berlin, Singapore and Luxembourg. Adrian Landon Brooks (b. 1983) studied painting at the San Francisco Art Institute and currently lives and works in Wimberley, Texas. Brooks works predominately in the mediums of painting and illustration, using found materials such as wood, metal, and old photographs as his canvas. He has exhibited in Texas, Denver, Chicago, San Francisco, Portland, Germany , Spain and Amsterdam. In addition to his gallery work, Brooks has been included in museum exhibitions at The Contemporary Austin and Fort Wayne Museum of Art (FWMOA). Brooks has also been featured in Juxtapoz, VNA, Art Maze Mag and selected into the West #126 issue of New American Paintings.

This is the essence of what drives me to make art. Glossy surfaces and structures, fluid forms and dynamic matter, the contraposition of stagnation and movement fascinates and inspires me. My work is emotive and focused on one’s desire for haptic experiences.
Subconsciously driven by the beauty of nature, I create static structures that depict motion and appear to be light despite the heaviness of their substance. Through the conceptual use of organic, playful, and dynamic shapes, my work invites the viewer to experience what is before them with their own senses and imagination.
